Hotel E is a completely renovated property, the hotel building was the historic old courthouse situated on a very nice, tidy town square. It's clear that the owner invested a great deal in converting the property into a fine boutique hotel, completely modernized in that way that honors the history, preserving some historic touches but has the upscale modern aesthetic too. They invested in high end finishes in their renovation. The rooms, large enough while still compact, included a very spacious bathroom with a double wide shower. Each room has a very sizeable flat screen TV, beds were quite comfortable, and linens and window treatments were very good quality. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are many restaurants a quick walk from the hotel (we enjoyed Ca Biana a few blocks away in an old Victorian house), the 6th Street Playhouse presents plays most Thur-Sun, and there's even a small Escape Room experience at the shopping mall right behind the hotel. The Luther Burbank House & Gardens in a 5-minute walk, Charles Schultz ("Peanuts" creator) Museum in 10 minutes by car, and Safari West is 17 minutes NE by car. The Armstrong Redwood preserve is 30 minutes by car, with a delightful stop for lunch at the Altamont General Store in Occidental and stroll through Sebastopol on the way back to Santa Rosa. We did all those activities in two and a half days without feeling rushed, and the Hotel E is the perfect home base for all. And do try Mo'z, a wonderful newly opened restaurant (open 8 a.m - 9 p.m.) in a renovated building just across the Old Courthouse Square from the hotel. The food was delicious and the owner, Mo, seemed so authentically delighted that we dined there and enjoyed our experience so much. All in all, even though I don't have future plans to visit Santa Rosa, I'd certainly welcome another opportunity to stay at Hotel E.

The Hotel E was perfectly located for my needs, as I wanted a central location that was comfortable, affordable, and near transit options. There's a bus center a block away and it's a few blocks walk to the SMART downtown station. The hotel was staffed by friendly people. The decor is impeccable. The room was well equipped: a comfortable bed, plenty of lighting for reading, an excellent shower, and in-room fridge. The room was quiet, too. A small daily charge included breakfast, which was a little skimpy but perfectly fine given the cost and my needs—and there were fresh oranges and other citrus.

Breakfast was simple/basic but the granola was good. Tea was good. Staff were very friendly. Beds were comfortable. There was daily housekeeping. Location was great and the hotel building was beautiful and tastefully decorated. Free parking right outside the hotel overnite worked out perfectly (I had to move my car at 9 am but that was never a problem). There were lots of restaurants to choose from within walking distance. Mexican by the hotel had great soup and fast friendly service. The Peruvian place was so good we went there twice!

It was a clean and modern hotel with the distinction of history that is part of that old building. It was a nice spot that was centrally located in the heart of Santa Rosa, only 20 minutes from the airport and right in the middle of downtown, with many shops and restaurants within walk distance. The staff was top notch from the front desk to the valet and everyone in-between, you could tell the staff enjoyed working there, giving a family vibe to the whole trip with "smiles" to boot, you felt at home and well taken care of.

Michael

From the moment we walked into the lobby of this very beautiful and historic building till we left the following day, all staff members were exceptionally accomodating! Everything was sparkling clean and shipshape, compact but very comfortable and every effort made to make our stay enjoyable. If this is not enough to make you want to book this hotel, consider the perfect location in the heart of downtown Santa Rosa.
